14 arrested for defying lockdown in Mardan

MARDAN: Officials of the district administration here on Sunday sealed several shops and arrested 14 people for violating the lockdown.
Talking to The News, Assistant Commissioner Gul Bano added the district administration officials visited various parts of the city to ensure lockdown in a bid to stop spread of coronavirus. The official added that 14 traders were arrested during the operation in Gajju Khan Bazaar, Shamsi Road and Bank Road for violating the lockdown.
She added the violators included owners of clinics, tailors, cloth merchants, car showrooms, cosmetics shops. She asked the people to adopt preventive measures and maintain social distancing to protect themselves from Covid-19.
