223 passengers arriving from Jeddah to be quarantined

MULTAN: The first flight carrying 223 passengers from Jeddah landed in Multan on Saturday, airport officials said.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi received the passengers at the Multan International Airport. All the passengers were registered at corona counter established by health authorities. The Multan Waste Management Company conducted disinfection of passengers’ goods at the airport.

The passengers would be provided residence at the Multan quarantine centre while those who could afford hotel’s expenses would be allowed to stay there. The arrangements have been made for the passengers at seven hotels.

The Civil Defence workers and Rescue 1122 rescuers are posted at the Multan quarantine center at Labour Complex in Industrial Estate. The Rescue 1122 ambulances are also parked at the quarantine centre. The Multan Waste Management Company washes the quarantine centre rooms with chlorinated water.

Two new corona suspects admitted to Hospital: Two new corona suspects were admitted to the Multan Nishtar Hospital here on Saturday.

Both suspects were shifted to the Isolation Ward No 27. Both the suspects, Muhammad Arshad and Parveen Akhtar, hailed from Multan and their blood samples would be sent for screening. The hospital sources confirmed that currently 37 corona suspects were under treatment at the hospital, including 20 confirmed corona positive, and 17 suspects, and their blood screening reports were still not received.

Meanwhile, the quarantined corona suspects at the Nishtar Hospital’s isolation wards complained lack of cleanliness in their wards. The corona suspects demanded the hospital administration clean their wards.
