ISLAMABAD: The first meeting of the ad hoc council of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) will be held next week on April 21 at the office of PMDC at Islamabad.
The Supreme Court (SC) the other day reconstituted an 11-member PMDC with Justice (R) Ejaz Afzal Khan, former judge of the Supreme Court as its President. Similarly, the Council also include Attorney General for Pakistan or his nominee (Member) along with other members including Federal Secretary Health, Islamabad, Surgeon General of Pakistan Armed Forces, Vice Chancellor, The National University of Medical Sciences, Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Vice Chancellor, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi, Vice Chancellor, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Vice Chancellor Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad and Principal De’Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore.
The court had held that the Council shall meet as soon as possible while the Attorney General Office shall with prior approval of president of the Council intimate the date of its first meeting to all concerned.
On Saturday the office of Attorney General in a press release stated that the first meeting of the Ad hoc Council of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council will be held next week on April 21 at the office of PMDC at Islamabad.
