Banned outfits in Multan warned against hide collection

MULTAN: Warning banned outfits against hide collection on Eidul Azha, City Police Officer Muhammad Azhar Akram has directed the district police to take stern action and arrest their activists found, openly or secretly, collecting hides of sacrificial animals.
In a statement here on Thursday, he said that intelligence agencies had shared reports that the banned outfits were planning to activate their cells for hide collection on Eidul Azha. He said lists of banned outfits had been provided to all police stations. He said the banned outfits were working under new names.
The CPO said the police had adopted strict security measures to avoid any untoward incident during Eid holidays. He ordered special security measures around ‘A’ category mosques and Imambargahs. He ordered the police to keep a vigilant eye on the Schedule-IV persons and ensure their monitoring round-the-clock. He expressed his dissatisfaction over police performance regarding implementation of the ban on kite flying and ordered the police to launch a crackdown on kite flyers.
DCO Javed Akhtar Mahmood under Section 144 has banned collection of hides of sacrificial animals unlawfully and forcibly.
