MANSEHRA: Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz, a local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) who unsuccessfully contested election for a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seat, died of Covid-19 here on Tuesday.
The doctors and district head of JUI-F Mufti Kifayatullah confirmed the death of Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz at the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad. Shah Abdul Aziz, who was initially hospitalised at King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra and kept at quarantine ward after testing positive for coronavirus earlier this month. He was shifted to the Ayub Medical Complex in a critical condition on April 10. The deceased had gone to Quetta and on his return to his native Mansehra was quarantined for tests. With the death of the JUI-F leader, the Covid-19 toll in Mansehra has risen to three.
