PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Wednesday said that rehabilitation of roads and provision of electricity to Chitral was needed on emergency basis.
Talking to a delegation of ‘Chitral Bachao Pakistan Bachao’ movement at the Al Markez Islami in Peshawar, he said that government should take practical steps for the rebuilding of flood affected district.
He said that he had visited the affected areas and would raise the issue in Senate. Sirajul Haq said that steps were needed before winter season to enable affected people to live a normal life.
The delegation members including Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Nadir Khwaja, Sartaj and Shamsher Khan informed the JI leader that the flood had damaged the infrastructure in the district.
They said that a comprehensive package was needed for rehabilitation and restoration of the affected infrastructure.
