MARDAN: A former income tax commissioner and known social figure of Chitral district, Sultan Wazir, has joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
He made the announcement at the residence of PPP provincial president Khanzada Khan here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sultan Wazir said the Pakistan People’s Party was the only party that worked for the underprivileged people.
“The Pakistan People’s Party leadership had rendered a matchless sacrifice for strengthening democracy in the country,” he said, adding, the Pakistan People’s Party leadership did much work during its tenure to strengthen democracy.
He said that through the 18th Amendment, the Pakistan People’s Party also gave the province autonomy, which they had been demanding since long.
Sultan Wazir urged the masses to join hands with Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to pull the country out of crises.
Khanzada welcomed Wazir in the party fold. “Joining of the PPP by Sultan Wazir will strengthen the party in Chitral,” he maintained.
Belonging to a respectable family from Torkhow valley in Chitral, Sultan Wazir had joined the Income Tax Department after doing CSS.
