136 corona suspects leave for hometowns

FAISALABAD: As many as 136 corona suspects of different districts on Saturday left for their cities who were quarantined at the PARS Campus on Jhang Road.

According to medical reports, they all were still negative from coronavirus but they would be quarantined for some time in their respective districts so that they could be cleared eventually. ADCG Fazl-e-Rabi and AC Sadar Umar Maqbool see off the pilgrims from the quarantine centre and expressed best wishes for them and requested them to remain quarantine for some days. The pilgrims from Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Sahiwal and other areas thanked Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali and his team for hospitality and assured them that they would kept themselves in the quarantine.

FDA DG FOR SPEEDY WORK ON KASHMIR BRIDGE UNDERPASS: FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja has said that the construction work on the mega project of Kashmir Bridge Underpass should not be delayed due to the current lockdown.

He said this while reviewing the progress work on the underpass construction here on Saturday. FDA Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood, Deputy Director Admin Yasir Ijaz Chattha and other officers and representatives of NLC were also present on the occasion. The FDA Director General inspected different parts of under construction Kashmir Bridge Underpass and directed for further accelerating the construction work for the final completion of this project within stipulated period. He directed to complete the barrels of the underpass speedily by taking advantage of less traffic on this site due to the lockdown as a part of precautions against the spread of coronavirus. He said that the project was very significant in the city development and to address the issue of traffic pressure on this busiest Canal Road. He stressed upon keeping all safety and precautionary measures active while maintaining the pace of construction process. He said that the issue of acquisition of land for construction of slip roads at the both sides of underpass be settled immediately and asked Estate Management Director Dr Anam Sajid Malik to take necessary departmental measures in this regard. He directed for lifting surplus materials and removing unnecessary machinery from the surrounding of project site and said that cleanliness should be ensured for pleasant environment. He directed for arranging more lights at the site to improve the visibility condition at night times. He asked the officers to provide every possible comfort to the citizens during the construction process and said that all safety measures should be ensured for the protection of traffic and passersby at this site. FDA Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood briefed about the details of construction work and said that regular monitoring was being carried out to complete the project without further delay. He informed that the mega project would be completed at a cost of Rs 1.28 billion.
