GUJRANWALA: A naib qasid of the Building Department was murdered at Basiwala on Saturday.
Reportedly, Zafar Iqbal Bhindar was on his way when two accused attacked him with knives. As a result, Zafar died on the spot. Sadar police have started investigation.
APPLICATION AGAINST INDUSTRIALIST: The Sui Gas Department on Saturday lodged an application with the Model Town police for registration of a case against an industrialist for giving bogus cheques worth millions of rupees. The department’s billing officer Noor Khan in a written application alleged that Sheikh Mehmood, owner of a ceramics factory, had submitted three cheques worth Rs 390 million for payment of gas dues but all the cheques were dishonored by the concerned bank.
TWO BROTHERS SHOT, INJURED: A man shot at and injured his two brothers over a property issue at Baghbanpura on Saturday.
Reportedly, accused Afzal of Sharifpura had a property dispute with his brothers Asghar and Ashfaq. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly opened fire at his brothers Asghar and Ashfaq. As a result, both were injured and rushed to the DHQ Hospital. Baghbanpura police have started investigation.
