PESHAWAR: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) distributed protective gear among the doctors and paramedical staff at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Tangi and the Rural Health Centre, Sherpao.
According to a press release, QWP provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao handed over the protective gear, including gloves, protective goggles, N95 masks, surgical masks, body gowns and other equipment to the health staff. Talking to the doctors and other staff members, Sikandar Sherpao said that they were the real heroes and the frontline workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic. He said the doctors and paramedics were exposed to the Covid-19 infection, therefore, the government should provide them the personal protection equipment forthwith so that the health professionals could be saved from catching this highly contagious disease.
Sikandar Sherpao said the services being rendered by the medical fraternity during the prevailing crisis would be remembered forever. He assured them that the Qaumi Watan Party would not abandon them and would continue to raise voice for their genuine demands. He deplored that the government was dragging its feet to make the personal protective equipment available to the doctors despite making claims.
