Sindh govt urged to adopt mechanism for ration distribution

Leaders of opposition and religious parties on Saturday claimed that the Sindh government had not adopted any mechanism to distribute ration and cash among the needy people, and it was their failure.

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the government had provided ration to a few union councils and majority of people were still waiting for ration, adding cash distribution was not seen anywhere in the city till date.

He said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had promised to provide ration to people at their doorsteps. Millions of people were losing their jobs due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said the provincial government had to adopt some mechanism to provide ration to the people.

Pakistan Sunni Tehreek chief Mohammed Sarwat Ejaz Qadri said some practical steps were needed to help people in need.
