GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Shamail Ahmed Khawaja Monday directed the relevant authorities to complete necessary arrangements ahead of feared floods in rivers and Nullahs.
Addressing a meeting to review flood arrangements, the Commissioner ordered the relevant departments to monitor flood situation continuously in the wake of recent rains.
He said coordination between departments concerned was of vital importance to meet the challenge. The Commissioner said timely provision of machinery and equipment should be ensured in case of any emergency situation.
He called for completing protective arrangements throughout the division and immediate evacuation of population in case of any emergency relating to flood.
Shamail said there should be proper arrangements for food, medicines and fodder for livestock in the feared hit areas. He was told that 44 relief campus have been established in the areas and 68,000 food boxes were also provided in the campus.
