Rawalpindi: Following an exchange of fire between dacoits gang and police, a dacoit identified as Yusuf Lahori sustained bullet injuries when police was taking him to raid at the hideout of his aides here on Thursday in the limits of Waris Khan Police station.
In a bid to arrest aides of Yousaf Lahori dacoits gang, police raided at a graveyard at Zafarul Haq Road in the limits of Waris Khan Police station on Thursday.
On tip of a detainee dacoit Yousaf Lahori, police team raided at the hideout of dacoits gang but the dacoits at the hideout opened fire at police team.
In exchange of fire, Yousaf Lahori sustained bullet injuries from his dacoit aides, who was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital while aids of dacoits succeed to ran away firing at the police team.
SP (Rawal) Rai Mazhar Iqbal reached hospital on receiving information with police force to cordon the dacoits.
Yousaf Lahori on 14 February 2020 shot injured an expatriate citizen Tariq during a robbery, said SHO Waris Khan Police station.
Later, Yusuf Lahori was arrested by Waris Khan Police along his aide Akhtar who was shifted to Adiyala Jail following identification parade.
SHO Waris Khan Ghazanfar Abbas stated that Yusuf Lahori and his aides are accomplice in scores of robberies adding that Yusuf Lahori was also challaned for criminal record in Lahore. SP (Rawal) stated that police was conducting raids to arrest other aides of this dacoits gang.
