2.2m families to get relief package in KP, says CM’s adviser

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Wazir on Wednesday said that under the Prime Minister Ehsas Kafalat programme, 2.2 million families had been identified in the province for relief package and payment of Rs12000 to each of them would start from today (Thursday).

Speaking to media, Ajmal Wazir said that 272 quarantine centres have been set up across the province, with a capacity of 17,530 patients. He said that about 3500 points had been established across the province to handover the relief package and all payments would be made online through the Information Management System to make it transparent. In the relief package of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rs6,000 would be given after a week or two. He said that there were 527 confirmed corona cases across the province while tests for 1261 patients came negative and 18 patients have died so far from the virus.

About 18 out of 19 patients returned home from the quarantine centre established at Darazinda. Similarly, 217 out of 281 at Gomal Medical College and all 152 patients returned to their homes from Dauranpur Quarantine Centre, Peshawar.

He said doctors, paramedics and the health staff are our heroes that the nation will always remember and the provincial government pays tribute to all of them.
