High flood warning for Multan

MULTAN: The district administration on Monday issued high flood warning for the next five days.
Talking to newsmen here, District Coordination Officer Zahid Salim Gondal said that the flood warning was issued due to the expected heavy rains in the district. He ordered immediate shifting of villagers living across the river belt. He ordered the district administration to take emergency measures across the river belt. He said that a survey was being launched across the river belt areas from Tuesday (today) to ensure immediate shifting of the residents to the safer places.
The district coordination officer cancelled the Eid holidays of the district government employees to combat with heavy flood threat. The district coordination officer said that 500,000 cusec water was expected to flow in Chenab River in result of heavy rains.
