FAISALABAD: An infant was killed during scuffle of her parent in the area of JhangBazaar police station.
Police spokesman said on Sunday that Sana Bibi, r/o Amin Town, exchanged harsh words with her spouse accused Irfan over a domestic dispute. Later, the accused opened fire at his wife but the bullet hit his minor suckling daughter. As a result, the girl sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The accused father managed to escape from the scene.
FCCI lauds PM package for construction sector: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) president Rana Sikandar Azam has welcomed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s amnesty scheme for the construction sector and said that it will help stabilise national economy and overcome unemployment. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that construction was the only sector which had links with 74 other sectors and millions of people would earn livelihood from the sector. He also appreciated the PM’s bold step of elevating status of construction sector to an industry and said that it would help enhance national GDP. He also appreciated 90 per cent concession in payment of fixed tax in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme and said that the investors should avail the opportunity to a maximum extent. He said that the scheme would help not only in provision of houses to the poor people but also accelerate the pace of national development. He also welcomed abolishing capital gain tax and said that it would help initiate new housing schemes in private sector.
Body found: A girl was found dead in the fields in the precincts of Sadar Sammundri police station. Police said on Sunday that some passersby spotted the body near Chak 394 Khiyal Di Jhok and informed the area police which took the body into custody. The corpse has been identified as Nazia Bibi was sent to mortuary for postmortem. Police are investigating.
Seven held: Sandal Bar police have arrested seven persons on the charge of stealing oil from Parco pipeline near Chak 7-JB. Police said on Sunday that security officer Parco Rauf Badar lodged a report to police alleging that Riaz along with others stole a huge quantity of oil from Parco pipeline after digging a tunnel in the courtyard of his house in Chak 7-JB.
On his report, the police have registered a case against the accused. The police have arrested accused Riaz, Azam, Shahid, Arsalan, etc. Further investigation was under way.
Power shutdown notice: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has issued power shutdown schedule for Tuesday (tomorrow) due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines.
According to the schedule, power supply from Khalid, Noor Mehal, Rajana, Din Pur and Islam Pur feeders from 132-KV Mureedwala grid station will remain suspended from 10am to 3pm while Badshahi Masjid and Muazzam Shah feeders originating from 132-KV Chiniot grid station will observe shutdown from 9am to 3pm on April 7. Similarly, electricity supply from all feeders from 132-KV MS First Treet grid station will remain suspended from 8am to 11am and then from 3pm to 6pm whereas, Jandanwala feeder from 132-KV Millat Road grid station will observe load shedding from 9am to 5pm on April 7.
