Rawalpindi : On instructions of Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police, Rawalpindi Police has devise mechanism to provide edible food and distribute ration among deserving families.
In this connection, Rawalpindi Police has started seeking applications from deserving people to provide relief packages to deserving families in wake of prevailing lockdown in Rawalpindi Division.
Rawalpindi police has received more than one thousand applications from deserving families to collects relief packages from police.
RPO Office Rawalpindi stated that scrutiny process on received applications has been started to ensure transparency and to provide relief package to deserving families in wake of Coronavirus lockdown.
After scrutiny process, relief package distribution process will be started. CPO Rawalpindi Muhammad Ahsan Younis stated that Rawalpindi Police is committed to serve the people of Rawalpindi amidst ongoing challenging scenario.
He added that on instructions of Punjab government, health emergency has been enforced in the province and owing to prevailing lockdown, hundreds and thousands of workers and daily wage earners have become jobless to provide ration and edible food to their respective families.
To take care of these families, Punjab police has devised a mechanism to provide assistance to these deserving families.
In this regard, helpline has also been announced from Rawalpindi police for deserving families to call police helpline numbers including 03097770693 and 0519292637 to gain ration assistance from police.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police, amidst prevailing lockdown scenario lauded services of sanitary workers working in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic in the city.
In this regard, senior police officials visited Quarantine facility centre established at Rawalpindi Institute for Urology and lauded sanitary workers working there amidst Covid-19 suspects.
