PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) General Secretary Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli on Thursday criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for proposed creation of the ‘tiger force,’ saying the rulers were politicising the distribution of the relief goods among the deserving people.
In press release issued from Watan Kor, she advised the government to avoid playing politics over this serious issue, saying that such steps would make this whole process controversial. She demanded the government shed its prejudice against the political rivals and develop a working relation with the opposition.
She maintained the opposition parties had offered complete support to the government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, but it seemed the rulers were least bothered to consider their suggestions. “To raise the tiger force is a political stunt and nothing else,” she remarked, adding that the country’s resources must not be wasted on it.
The QWP leader urged the government to take tangle steps to provide relief to the people and mitigate the sufferings of the have-nots particularly the labourers and the daily wagers as they could not find work due to the restrictions and lockdown to contain the coronavirus.
