DC visits Al-Khidmat Centre
Islamabad: Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat on Wednesday visited a distribution centre established by the Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF) Pakistan to distribute food and ration among deserving people.
Jamaat e Islami naib ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam, Islamabad ameer Nasarullah Randhwa, President Al Khidmat Islamabad, Hamid Athar and traders leader Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner was apprised of welfare activities being carried out by the foundation particularly in the wake of spread of COVID-19. Hamza Shafqaat said the AKFP volunteers have not only helped out the Islamabad administration in creating awareness about prevention against COVID-19 but they also served the residents of the federal capital besides establishing isolation wards in hospitals. He said there three lac people and 33,000 families in Islamabad who needed support in the form of food and ration. Mian Aslam said the Government instead of creating more organisations should support already active network in the social sector. The Deputy Commissioner was apprised that the AKFP so far has distributed ration worth Rs450 million among five lac deserving people across the country.
