Applications for Punjab CM Insaaf Imdad Package to be received from today: minister

FAISALABAD: Punjab Minister for Public Prosecution Ch Zaheeruddin has said that the applications for the Punjab Chief Minister’s Insaaf Imdad Package will be received from April 1 (today).

He was chairing a high level meeting at the Commissioner Office here on Tuesday. Commissioner Ishrat Ali, RPO Raja Rifat Mukhtar, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, other concerned officers, parliamentarians Mian Farrukh Habib, Faizullah Kamoka, Sh Khurram Shahzad, Malik Umar Farooq, Shakil Shahid, Latif Nazar, Adil Parvaiz Gujjar, Mian Khayal Kastro and Waris Aziz were also present.

The minister informed that poor people could send their personal usernames, CNID numbers and mobile numbers to 8070 or download the App or website insafimdad.punjab.gov. He told about the details of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Insaaf Imdad Package and the mechanism for obtaining financial aid for needy persons. He said that aid would be provided to the poor/affected persons at their homes by mobile companies after verification by the Punjab government.

He asked the members of the assembly to inform the people of their constituency about this initiative and process of sending applications and there was no need to contact any office. He also briefed about the situation of coronavirus in the district and informed that the test reports of 158 pilgrims had been received and out of them, five were positive and 153 were negative. However, he added, the persons who had negative reports would stay at quarantine for 14 days.

Similarly, he continued, the test reports of 67 visitors who had come in the second phase were awaited. He informed that the facility of testing lab in Allied Hospital would be soon available. Reviewing the situation of availability of flour, the minister said that strict monitoring of flour was being carried out by the district administration and it was decided to provide flour to consumers on karyana shops as well as through trucking point according to demand. He said that the task had been assigned to the officers to ensure the smooth delivery of flour quota.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali briefed the participants of the meeting about the situation caused by coronavirus and informed that the contacts of confirm coronavirus patients were being traced for tests. He also gave details of lockdown situation besides action against pillion riders. He said that public awareness campaigns, disinfection of public places, distribution of masks, washing of bus stands and cleaning of mosques were underway while circles had been identified in front of shops for consumers for held distance in wake of coronavirus issues.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians emphasised the need to ensure availability of flour and making the price control committee more active. They said that the district administration’s actions during the coronavirus situation were praiseworthy. However, further measures were needed to protect the people from the coronavirus.

RICE BAGS RECOVERED FROM GODOWN: Assistant Commissioner Sadar Umar Maqbool on Tuesday recovered 1,000 rice and 500 red chilli bags from a godown situated on Jhang Road. The AC raided and recovered flour and chilli bags and sealed the godown.

Date extended for filing of goods declaration by importers: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for filing of goods declaration by importers and clearing agents from 10 to 25 days.

It was disclosed by Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Rana Sikandar Azam here on Tuesday. The FCCI chief said that the chamber had been striving hard to resolve the problems confronted by the business community.
