RAWALPINDI: Long queues of people could be seen in front of every opened bank as the citizens faced hell like situation due to closing of scores of bank’s branches in fear of coronavirus here on Monday.
Will coronavirus end or spread due to long queues of people in front of every bank, customers asking question to bank managements they have closed down around 50 percent branches here in city.
Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Narankari Bazaar Branch Manager Muhammad Usman told ‘The News’ that higher authorities have issued a notification to be functional only main branches and close down other small branches. “We have closed down our branch,” he said.
The customers of different banks have strongly condemned the decision regarding to close down bank’s branches. “Banks were smoothly working even in lockdown days, but this decision will lead to spread of coronavirus among public,” the customers warned.
It was very dangerous that majority of customers in long queues were without masks. The customers said that working was smoothly going on when all bank’s branches opened even in lockdown days. Only two customers entered banks to submit utility bills or deposit money. The bank’s managements were also dealing the ladies smoothly.
But on Monday, all opened banks were jam packed due to long queues of public. It was due to closing down all other branches.
Due to breakdown, power was cut off in Mall Road, Jhikagali, Bhurban, Expressway and other areas
