LAHORE:Ajoka Theatre observed the World Theatre Day on Friday by holding an online meeting to reaffirm its resolve to continue its mission of social change and providing a socially meaningful entertainment.
The meeting, chaired by Ajoka Chairperson Zara Salman and attended online by Ajoka’s core members, including Executive Director Shahid Nadeem, General Secretary Sohail Warraich, Ajoka Institute Director Nirvaan Nadeem, Fazal Abbas Faizi, Nayab Faiza, Usman Raaj, Qaiser Khan, Nadeem Mir, Kanwal Christopher and Asad Mujeeb. Eminent actors Savera Nadeem and Samia Mumtaz also joined the online meeting.
A video recording of Shahid Nadeem’s world theatre message was released jointly by the International Theatre Institute and Ajoka Theatre. ITI, the largest international theatre umbrella body, had invited Shahid Nadeem to deliver the message which was honour for Pakistani theatre. This message can be viewed at Ajoka’s YouTube channel and Facebook and at ITI’s web site. Shahid Nadeem said: “This World Theatre Day comes at a very difficult time for the world but also shows that human survival is only possible through a global effort to fight the challenge.”
