The country’s top judge, while travelling from the airport to his house after his arrival in the city on Saturday, took serious notice of the traffic problems caused by the VIP protocol provided to him for his journey.
Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, who returned to the city for the first time after his appointment as the chief justice of Pakistan, observed that all intersections on the route had been barricaded, causing traffic jams.
He directed the home secretary to ensure that such arrangements were not made again as they caused problems for commuters. He ordered that the public should not face any inconvenience and the roads leading to his house or the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry should not be blocked.
