ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Thursday said his party will not leave its countrymen alone in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
“I am for the people and the people belong to me and in such a difficult time, the PPP and the Sindh government will not leave the poor alone,’ he said while chairing a video link meeting on distribution of ration for daily wagers.
Sherry Rehman, Nayyer Bokhari, Syed Naveed Qamar, Saleem Mandviwala and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attended the meeting, while Taj Haider, Waqar Mehdi, Imtiaz Shaikh, Murtaza Wahab and Haris Gazdar and Saeed Ghani, down with COVID-19, also participated in the meeting.
Bilawal said daily wagers in Sindh should not worry because the PPP was with them.
He directed that the Sindh government should deliver ration on the doorsteps of daily wagers daily. He strongly urged the Sindh government officials to ensure that not a single daily wager starve due to food paucity.
On this occasion, the Sindh government apprised the PPP chairman of their plans to assist the needy.
Bilawal expressed satisfaction over the issuance of Rs20 million in the first phase to all districts of Sindh for the help of daily wagers.
