Mardan police distribute ration among Manga residents
MARDAN: The Mardan district police on Thursday distributed free ration comprising two truckloads of flour and ghee to the people in the Manga union council, which has been sealed due to coronavirus cases.
District Police Officer Sajjad Khan said that some philanthropists requested him to distribute the relief items among the deserving people. “The ration including one truckload of flour and one truckload of ghee was distributed among people of Manga,” he added.
Also on Thursday, the Pakistan Army and Mardan police staged a joint flag march in the district.
The DPO said the flag march was meant to assure every kind of cooperation on the part of the police and army to the people of Mardan in the ongoing situation. He asked people to stay home during the lockdown and cooperate with the security personnel as the lockdown was aimed to ensure the safety of people.
The official said that several mobile vans were on duty in Manga area to guard houses and ensure that no-one leaves their houses. Meanwhile, the police also impounded dozens of auto-rickshaws and motorcycles for violating the ban on pillion riding and lockdown in the city.
