Flights to Skardu, Gilgit to be operational from today
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to permit domestic flight operation to and from Islamabad International Airport for Gilgit Airport and Skardu Airport only with effect from Thursday (March 26) from 2020 at 0600 hours PST.
The spokesperson for the Aviation Division on Wednesday said that suspension of all domestic flight operation to and from all other airports will remain effective.
This NOTAM shall remain effective till April 2.
Meanwhile, the management of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to operate four flights to the UK and Canada from Friday to facilitate passengers stranded in Pakistan and want to return to two countries.
The first flight, PK-781 will leave Lahore for Toronto on March 27, second flight PK-709 on Saturday (March 28) from Islamabad to Manchester, third flight PK-757 from Islamabad to Manchester also on Saturday and fourth flight PK 9791 on Saturday from Islamabad to Birmingham.
All the four flights will return to Pakistan without carrying any passengers.
According to PIA spokesperson, the booking for flights has been started which will be made on first come first serve basis.
