DCs asked to distribute ration among families of pilgrims
MULTAN: The Punjab government has directed the deputy commissioners of 34 districts to start distributing 15 days food stock to the homes of corona suspected pilgrims staying in Multan quarantine centre, officials said on Monday.
The family of each pilgrim would be provided one bag of flour and another with other necessary items. Seventeen corona suspect pilgrims at Multan quarantine centre belong to Bahawalpur district while Rahimyar Khan 32, Multan 71, Lodhran 32, Khanewal 17, Vehari 12, Dera Ghazi Khan 11, Layyah 71, Muzaffargarh 75, Rajanpur 53, Sargodha 52, Mianwali 10, Khushab 29, Bhakkar 40, Jhelum 11, Attock 17, Chakwal nine, Sahiwal six, Lahore 63, Sheikhupura 14, Nankana Sahib 11, Gujranwala 122, Hafizabad 29, Sialkot 95, Gujrat 36, Faisalabad 30, Jhang 114, Toba Tek Singh five, Chiniot six, Rawalpindi eight, Pakpattan one, Okara one and 84 pilgrims blong to Mandi Bahauddin. Talking to journalists, Multan quarantine centre focal person Muhammad Tayyab Khan said that total 1,207 suspect pilgrims were under treatment at the centre, including 939 males and 268 females. The female pilgrims and families were accommodated in a separate block and flats, he told. The corona tests of three suspects were conducted and one test report received positive, he said. The corona tests of 33 bus workers were sent and their report was still waiting, he said.
Meanwhile, the City District Administration has decided to launch coronavirus diagnostic units. The diagnostic unit would consist of seven vehicles. The Edhi Foundation has provided four vehicles while Al-Khidmat Foundation would provide three vehicles for diagnostic centers.
The 1122 rescuers would be appointed in diagnostic centres. Two diagnostic units have been handed over to the coronavirus control room set up at the deputy commissioner office. The emergency 1122 would have five diagnostic units. The citizens can contact the corona control room at 0614500964 in case a corona suspect and diagnostic unit would approach the suspect for tests.
