HAFIZABAD: On the directions of the Punjab government, all shops and markets remained closed in connection with coronavirus threat.
The markets and bazaars at Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Sukheke Mandi, Kaleke Mandi, Jalalpur Bhattian, Rasulpur Tarar, Vanike Tarar, Kolo Tara and other towns of the district remained closed and only those shops were opened which were allowed by the government.
Meanwhile, a flag march was taken out under the leadership of DC Naveed Shahzad Mirza and DPO Bilal Iftikhar from Jinnah Chowk. The march passed through various roads, including Gujranwala Road, Fawara Chowk, Vanike Chowk, Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, Qatalgarha Chowk, Girjha Ghara Chowk and Kassoki Road, and later terminated at District Complex.
The DC said that the flag march was being taken to ensure the implementation of government orders and to create awareness among the public to save them from the coronavirus by adopting the preventive measures. He said that no one should be panicked and all the people should adopt preventive measures for their safety. He said that no one would be allowed to violate government instructions which were issued for the prevention of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Rescue 1122 conducted disinfection spray at Railway Station, DHQ Hospital, Trauma Centre, THQ Pindi Bhattian, General Bus Stand, Gujranwala Road, Fawara Chowk, Main Bazaar, Kuchehri Road, Vanike Chowk, Qatalgarha Chowk, Sukheke and Jalalpur Bhattian. District Emergency Officer Sibghatullah asked the citizens to use face mask and sensitiser to ensure their safety.

Only few shops were opened which were allowed under the government directives. Meanwhile, the Municipal Committee started washing of roads and wagon stands. On the other hand, the rates of commodities have been increased by the shopkeepers. The people, especially daily wagers, are facing severe financial difficulties due to current situation in the country.
