Safety steps stressed against coronavirus
BARA: The officer-bearers of the Doctors and Chemists Association, Bara, on Sunday called upon the people to adopt preventive measures against the coronavirus threat to stop the spread of the viral disease. Speaking at a press conference in Bara Press Club, Dr Sahibzada Rahim Jan Afridi, Dr Muhammad Hussain, Dr Gul Muhammad and others said the coronavirus had spread in various countries, including Pakistan. "The govt and other social welfare organisations have already launched a mass awareness campaign against the coronavirus among the people," Dr Rahim said, adding the association was ready to cooperate with the government in the fight against the fast-spreading virus. He maintained that the government should take serious action and provide facilities to the volunteers to handle coronavirus cases professionally. Dr Rahim Jan asked the government to provide facilities, particularly food items, to the people living in the areas locked down after the coronavirus cases reported from there. —Correspondent
