Islamabad :: The Ministry of National Health Services has constituted a nine-member COVID-19 Emergency Management Task Force to further intensify oversight of key thematic interventions that can help restrict coronavirus transmission.
The Director General of the National Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Network (NHEPRN) Dr. Raja Amjad will oversee health care in Islamabad Capital Territory, while Director of the Central Health Establishment (CHE) Dr. Irfan Tahir will be responsible for matters related to Points of Entry.
The task of real-time data collection has been entrusted to Dr. Rana Safdar, National Programme Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). Meanwhile, the PM’s Special Assistant on Media Dr. Shahbaz Gill will be responsible for awareness raising and media management, and Dr. Asad Hafeez, who is Vice Chancellor of the Health Services Academy, will be involved in preparation of COVID-19-related SOPs, advisories, and guidelines. Diagnostics and supplies will be overseen by the Executive Director of NIH Aamir Ikram and Joint Secretary Administration Saeed Ullah Niazi, respectively. The CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Dr. Asim Rauf and Director General Health Dr. Safi Malik will be responsible for regulations, and partnerships, respectively.
