Khwaja brothers released from jail after bail
By News Desk
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leaders — Khwaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khwaja Salman Rafique — were released from prison on Thursday, days after the Supreme Court (SC) accepted their bail pleas.
Earlier, an accountability court had issued their release orders against two surety bonds of three million rupees each. Lawyers for the Khwaja brothers submitted the surety bonds, and the court issued the release orders.
Saad Rafique spoke to reporters after his release, saying the PML-N is a party which was inclined towards moderation and had also proven it. “NAB and Pakistan cannot function together,” he said, alleging the anti-graft body’s law was based on dishonesty.
According to Geo News, the former railways minister vowed the PML-N would not change its stance, adding that the people of Pakistan are with them. Saad asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to “learn to tolerate” his opponents.
