RAWALPINDI: Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza Thursday visited the Murree Road from Committee Chowk to Marir Chowk to address traffic congestion near Liaquat Bagh at the request of the traders’ association.
According to the RDA spokesman, on the chairman’s direction, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has developed a plan to address the traffic problem in order to facilitate the public, says a press release.
As per plan, the chowk near Liaquat Bagh would be closed to traffic and a U-turn would be made near the office of Director Education Colleges, Rawalpindi Division.
The Marir Chowk would also be closed due to the traffic issue. The traffic coming on the Murree Road from Saddar goes on the right side at the Marir Chowk.
The chairman said as there is a U-turn near the office of the Director Education Colleges, the traffic would return from there while the traffic coming from Kutchery Chowk would go toward Saddar and could take turn on the right side from there. This will ease traffic congestion benefiting the public.
