ASI, two cops suspended for firing on citizen
Rawalpindi : Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and two cops of Cantonment Police were suspended for opening fire at a citizen in the limits of the police station here on Wednesday.
As per preliminary information, CPO Rawalpindi DIG Muhammad Ahsan Younis taking notice of gunfire by ASI and two constables of Cantonment Police Station at a citizen, Arif Khan, and ordered to suspend them for misuse of authority and injuring the citizen.
The police officials threatened the citizen and injured him with gunfire, resultantly, CPO took the notice of maltreatment of police officials with citizens and registered FIR against them and also suspended them from their offices.
In another incident, two robbers in an attempt to run away after snatching money were hit by a car in the limits of Westridge Police Station and were shifted to hospital.
As per details, two muggers on bike snatched money from a citizen.
In the meanwhile, a citizen driving a car witnessed the entire scene and as the robbers attempted to run away, the citizen hit their motorcycle with his car injuring who were later shifted to hospital.
