PESHAWAR: The victims of September 22, 2013 suicide bombings at the All Saints Church in Kohati Gate staged a protest here on Sunday against alleged embezzlement in the compensation funds meant for the affected families. Led by the chairman of the All Saint Church Trust Affectees, Tanveer, the protesters gathered at the Peshawar Press Club. They chanted slogans for payment to the victim families. The protesters were holding placards inscribed with slogans and a demand for a probe into the alleged embezzlement in the compensation amount. Addressing the protesters, Tanveer accused the Bishop of Peshawar and others of embezzling compensation amount announced by the prime minister, Sindh government and Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz. He alleged the foreign financial assistance was also not paid to the victims. Tanveer demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged misappropriation in the compensation amount and appealed to the chief justice of the Supreme Court and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take notice of the issue and provide justice to the victims.
