Islamabad: The Islamabad police along with Pak Rangers conducted search operation in Tarnol and its adjacent areas and arrested 59 suspects including Afghans, the police spokesman said. The police authorities prepared a special plan of search operation and combing activities in the city. According to the plan, search operation has been initiated and the police are conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants and Afghan habitats. These measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security and keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements. Islamabad Police along with contingents of Pak Rangers in wee hours of Saturday conducted search operation in Tarnol and its respective jurisdictions in which they screened houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas. Police including female commandos, women police also participated in the operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas. The teams succeeded to arrest 59 suspects who are being investigated further. During this grand search operation, cache of explosive and weapons with liquor was also recovered. This recovery includes 190 Kg explosives, Prima cord 1700 meters, liquor 1250 bottles, eight gallons of liquor, two stolen bikes, stolen car, 08 SMGs, 222 bore 01, M-16 02, 7mm 01, Repeater Gun 03, Carbine 01, 30 bore pistol 19, 9 mm pistol 03, 12 bore double barrel 05, 12-bore single barrel 02, Pump Action Gun 05 and 1886 bullets of all types of weapons. SP Saddar Area Rizwan Umer Gondal has said that Afghan cards of nabbed suspects would be verified and their mobile phones record would be obtained. He said Islamabad police have set up a cell with latest technology to trace the links of such suspects with criminal elements, dacoits or car lifters if any. of his search operation and high vigilance is to ensure foolproof security in the city and he further directed all SHOs to continue it. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
