VEHARI: The district administration will take stern action against the parents and Nikahkhawans if any case of underage marriage reported.
It was said by ADCG Rana Saleem Ahmad while addressing a seminar held on the topic of underage marriage here on Friday. The ADCG said that underage marriage creates a lot of problems for girl and her newborn baby. He said that underage marriage was the major cause of death of mothers during delivery of children. The DO Population Welfare said that the people should discourage underage marriage to save the society from social and other problems. Former bar president Mehr Bahadur asked the parents to marry their children after the age of minimum 16 years.
BODY FOUND: An unidentified dead body of a man was found here on Friday.
Thingi police have sent the body to a hospital for post-mortem.
ATTEMPTS SUICIDE: A man attempted suicide at Chak 19/WB on Friday.
The son of Muhammad Rafique attempted suicide by taking poison. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute.
