ISLAMABAD: Senior leader and central spokesperson Jan Muhammad Achakzai announced on Friday that he was quitting the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) over differences with the party leadership.
“I presented the JUI-F’s stance at every forum and countered every criticism aimed at it, but some leaders of the party were unable to understand this and initiated baseless propaganda against me,” Achakzai said on social media on Friday.
“I found this utterly dismaying, as targeting me actually caused damage to the party,” he said, and added, “In such circumstances when I am not being supported by these leaders, it is impossible for me to continue as the spokesperson of the party.”
He, however, said he found JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to be patriotic and highly sagacious and enjoyed his support and guardianship during his stay.
