KARACHI: Comrade Sports’ Jahanzeb Sultan and Zaryab Khan established a 246 runs partnership for the first wicket against Prince Imtiaz CC at the Park Star Ground in a recent match of KCCA Commissioner Karachi Cup under-16 cricket tournament.
Both openers reached three figures and put on sword the bowlers of the rival team.
Jahanzeb hit 123 runs from 102 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and two sixes, while Zaryab scored 110 runs off 163 deliveries.
Their team scored 272-5 in the match. Prince Imtiaz CC were dismissed for 192 runs.
Jahanzeb, 13, is not only a stylish left-handed strokemaker, but also a good leg-spinner.
He has scored 233 runs in five matches of the PCB-PEPSI Cricket Stars U-16 two-day tournament. His highest score was 80 runs. He has grabbed four wickets as well.
Zaryab is son of former international all-rounder Amir Hanif, who represented Pakistan in ODIs and played for Allied Bank.
The KCCA cricket officials are optimistic that both teenage cricketers would prove assets in the future of Pakistan cricket.
