Justice Khawaja

People will always remember former CJ Jawwad S Khawaja who, during his brief 23 days tenure as head of the Supreme Court – tried his best to remind the judiciary that its primary task is to dispense justice by upholding the constitution which he termed a living document. It is for individuals and state institutions to conform to the roles designated and defined in the constitution.
Organised crime has flourished in the country because our judiciary was manipulated or pressurised in the past. Justice Jawwad and other honourable judges of the Supreme Court have done well by working towards stopping this institutionalised malpractice.
