Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to three scholars in different subjects.Mansoor Ahmad has been awarded PhD in the subject of Physics after approval of his thesis “Synthesis and Characterisation of Zinc Oxide Based Nanowires for Energy Harvesting Applications”, Zakia Bano in the subject of Political Science after approval of her thesis “Pakistan’s Nuclear Security Dilemma (1998-2012): Internal Debates and External Doubts” and Aqeel Ahmad in the subject of Agriculture Sciences after approval of his thesis “Inducible Defence Responses in Tomato Triggered by Penicillium Oxalicum against alternate leaf spots of tomato”.
Meanwhile, a meeting of PU’s Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) was held on Thursday which approved nine PhD synopses and 11 evaluation reports.
The meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran also approved three panels of examiners, 12 extension cases and five miscellaneous cases. Prof Dr Ismatullah Zahid, Prof Dr Mobashar Ahmad Butt, Prof Dr Zakria Zakir, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, Prof Dr Hassan Mobin Alam, Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Prof Dr Mumtaz Akhter, Prof Dr Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Prof Dr Tahira Basharat, Prof Dr Moeen-ud-Din Nizami, Chairperson DPCC Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir and Acting Registrar Dr Kamran Abid attended the meeting.
Punjab University Examinations Department has also declared the results of BS (4-year programme) 3rd semester examination 2015. The detailed results are available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.
