‘Paddy prices decreased due to wrong policies of govt’

HAFIZABAD: Kisan Board Pakistan president Arsalan Khan has said that the prices of paddy have been decreased due to wrong policies of the government.
He said this while addressing a rally of farmers and cultivators of the district took out against the policies of the government on rice and paddy crops at Pindi Bhattian. Arsalan said that the stocks of rice were lying in godowns for the last two years, but still no new markets were being searched in foreign countries to export rice crop. He warned that if the demands of farmers did not fulfil, farmers and cultivators of the province would stage a sit-in in front of the Punjab Assembly on Sep 12.
2 BOOKED FOR SEXUAL ATTACK ON STUDENT: Sadar police on Tuesday booked two people on the charge of sexual assault on a class 10 student.
Accused Asad and Zeeshan took the student to a house where they allegedly sodomised him.
CHILD DIES, 2 HURT IN ACCIDENT: A four-year-old boy was killed while two others sustained injuries in an accident near Jurian village on Tuesday.
Irfan, his mother Khursheed Bibi and son Ahmad were on their way by a bike when a donkey-cart collided with their vehicle. As a result, Ahmad died on the spot while Irfan and Khursheed Bibi were injured.
CALL TO CONSTRUCT COLONIES: All Pakistan Irrigation Labour Union president Ch Khushi Muhammad has demanded the government construct new colonies for the irrigation employees on the lands of the department.
Addressing a gathering of the employees, he demanded the government promote employees of grade two and four scales immediately.
