3 dead, 10 injured in accident

BAHAWALPUR: Three people were killed while 10 others sustained injuries in a road accident near Mahand on Tuesday.
A van was carrying passengers when it collided with a trailer on Bahawalpur-Rahimyar Khan National Highway Section. As a result, Bagga of Channi Goth, Qurban Hussain of Januwala and Muhammad Nazir of Kehror Pacca were killed on the spot while 10 other passengers sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to the Rural Health Centre Channi Goth and Rural Health Centre Tranda. Later, the Channi Goth police arrested the fleeing trailer driver.
NOMINATION PAPERS: A few candidates on Tuesday filed nomination papers for the Local Government elections in the Bahawalnagar district.
Several candidates got nomination papers from their respective returning officers on the second day. The last date for filing the papers is Sep 11.
