Man killed in road accident

MANSEHRA: A man was killed and three others sustained injuries when a motorcar plunged into a ravine in Dubair area of Lower Kohistan on Wednesday.

“A police team rushed to scene following accident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries,” District Police Officer, Lower Kohistan, Sulman Khan told reporters. The drive of vehicle, which was on its way to Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan from Rawalpindi, could not hold control over steering while negotiating a sharp turn and it plunged into a ravine. According to police, Amjid Ali of Karimabad in Hunza succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital. The injured, including Amin Khan, Naeem Abbas and Amir Ahmad, all residents of Karimabad, were rushed to the nearby hospital from where doctors referred them to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad.

Injured cop dies

A police sub-inspector, who had fallen into a well some four days ago, succumbed to injuries here on Wednesday. Muhammad Fayyaz, who was posted at police lines here, had slipped and subsequently fell into the well at night last week. He was rushed to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad where he succumbed to injuries. Also in the day, the police arrested one Muhammad Tausif after a local court cancelled his bail before arrest. Jahangir and his brother Muhammad Tausif had allegedly fired and injured one Mohammad Inamullah. The both brothers had got pre-arrest bail from a local court which confirmed bail of Muhammad Jahangir and ordered arrest of Tausif.
