MANSEHRA: The people, whose land has been acquired for Manchora dam, have warned to move Peshawar High Court (PHC) and block Oghi-Mansehra Road if their dues were not paid to them before February 10. “The district administration has acquired thousands of kanals of our agricultural land and houses about two years ago but didn’t pay us even a single penny as yet,” Ghulam Mohammad, former nazim of Tarawray village council, told protesters at the dam site on Saturday. The protesters raised slogans against government and in support of their demands. Ghulam Mohammad said the affected families of Manchora dam, an irrigation-cum-micro power project would block Oghi-Mansehra road for traffic on February 10 Raj Mohammad, a local elder, said that the commissioner Hazara and deputy commissioner Mansehra had rushed to meet the affected families last year and assured them that their dues would be paid to them soon, but to no avail. AC Oghi, M Shojeen Vistro, rushed to Manchora and requested the protesters to withdraw their protest call.
