PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa head Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Thursday announced war against mafia within the government, rising crime rate, drugs, and dynastic politics.
"The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have taken frequent U-turns but failed to honour their commitments with the nation," he told a news conference here. He said that the increasing problems have led to a rise in drug abuse among youths and claimed that presently 8 million youths in Pakistan have got addicted to drugs. Flanked by JI youth wing head Sadiqur Rehman, Attiqur Rehman and others, he said the PTI government had no plan for the youths. He added that people were leaving Pakistan for other countries due to to non-availability of jobsy .
The JI head maintained that Imran Khan had forgotten all his commitments with youths while corruption and price-hike had made life miserable for people. Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that 14 percent increase had been recorded in the history of price hike, poverty and unemployment and Pakistani rupee had devalued much. He said the affairs of the country were being run on the directives of the IMF and the inefficient rulers have put the sovereignty of the country at stake.
He said the government itself had admitted that corruption was at its peak . Prime Minister Imran Khan had deceived 64 percent youths and used them for his own political purpose, he added. After coming into power, he added, Imran snatched jobs from the people and deprived them of education and other facilities. He said the PTI government had emotionally exploited the youths and that was why the youths had lost confidence in the government and were now leaving the country for better education and jobs. He said the JI had started membership campaign and would hold a historic convention in Peshawar on March 22. And a movement against the government would also be launched, he added.
