Tayyab moves into CNS International Squash semis

KARACHI: Pakistan’s top player Tayyab Aslam moved into the semi-finals of the $20,000 CNS International Squash Championship in Karachi here on Thursday.
In the quarter-finals, second seed Tayyab easily defeated seventh seed Syafiq Kamal from Malaysia 7-11, 7-11, 6-11 in 26 minutes. However, fifth seed Asim Khan of Pakistan was beaten by third seed Mazen Gamal from Egypt 10-12, 9-11, 6-11 in 42 minutes.
In another match, top seed Ivan Yuen from Malaysia defeated Moustafa El Sirty from Egypt 11-6, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9 in 48 minutes.
And fourth seed Henry Leung from Hong Kong overpowered his countryman sixth seed Tsz Kwan Lau 11-6, 9-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-5 in 66 minutes.
