Man held for beating up minor daughter
Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man for beating his daughter in Nazimabad after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam took notice of the incident and directed the District Central SSP to take stern action against the man. Police arrested the suspect, Dildar Bhatt, and registered a case against him.
The video showed Bhatti beating his minor daughter with a ladle. The father could be seen repeatedly thrashing his daughter in what seems like the balcony of their house. It was filmed by a neighbour who shared the video on social media. In the video, the minor girl could be seen appealing for help to a crowd of neighbours who were present at the time of the incident. However, no one helped her and the father then dragged her across the ground by her hair.
