PESHAWAR: Police have arrested a man who had allegedly killed his wife, three sons and a five-year-old granddaughter in Mardan district on October 10, last year.
District Police Officer Sajjad Khan had formed a team which arrested Usman Shah in Sheikh Maltoon Town, said a press release. The police had already arrested four accomplices of Usman, namely Muhammad Ali, Tahir, Bilal and Amir, in Lundkhwar area on October 31 last year.
Meanwhile, the police arrested 209 proclaimed offenders along with 63 abettors during the month of January, says the release. Action was also taken against 171 unregistered tenants in various areas of the district during the period.
Similarly, about 15 Kalashnikovs, 14 Kalakovs, 23 rifles, 38 shotguns, 473 pistols, 306 ammunition, 9821 bullets, 203kg charas, over 2kg heroin, 108 litres wine and 1850 grams ice drug were also recovered during the actions. About 154 people were booked for gambling.
