ISLAMABAD: Veteran Indian actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has exposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s lies about the worst situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), saying the whole valley had been sealed and Kashmiri leaders were under arrest.

In a video message, which has gone viral on social media, he said while China had sealed some of its districts owing to coronavirus, India had sealed entire Occupied Kashmir, particularly Srinagar valley.

He pointed out as the communications shutdown continued, no tourist was allowed to enter Occupied Kashmir and who managed to enter, was not allowed to leave and even Indian politicians could not go there. He said Indian leadership was talking about peace but there was no peace in the valley and even no one had idea about whether or not Wifi was again made available.

Sinha explained that the government arranged a tour of selective European visitors to protect its illegal actions in the occupied valley. He noted that India’s democracy was under threat as the controversial Citizen Amendment Act was being debated and criticised in the European Parliament, where 651 representatives out of over 750 had condemned this action and said what was happening in India was very wrong.

Sinha said the Global Hunger Index-2019 had put India at 102 out of 117 countries, while in Democracy Index India was nowhere among top 50 countries. He continued that under Modi’s government, the system was being run on the principle of one man show.

He noted that even in the World Economic Forum, it was stated that democracy was under threat in India.
