PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman has decided to forward the alleged fake degree issue and irregularities in appointments case in the University of Swabi to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for a probe.
He ordered the Higher Education Department (HED) to forward the cases to the FIA after expressing dissatisfaction at the Joint Investigation Team inquiry report on the University of Swabi into alleged fake degree issue and irregularities in the appointment.
The report was submitted in the 7th senate meeting of the University of Swabi here on Tuesday, said an official handout. The governor was dissatisfied at the JIT report.
He said the inquiry report had failed to identify the main culprits and
held the lower staff responsible which showed its bias.
He said illegal and against the merit recruitment would not be tolerated at any cost. It is pertinent to mention here it is the first time that the alleged fake degree issue and irregularities in appointments case in one of the higher educational institutions in KP would be forwarded to the FIA by the chancellor.
The senate meeting was attended by the Member Provincial Assembly Aqibullah Khan, Principal Secretary to Governor Nizam-ud-Din, HED Secretary Arshad Khan, University of Swabi Vice-Chancellor Imtiaz Ali Khan and other members.
